2. Great spot to get some work done over a pint, but just as frequented by those on a first date. Would be a great spot for a date as well.
3. Great local (and strong) brews available here, but their Cider list is really impressive. Definitely a good spot for anyone visiting from the UK!
As I write this article, I am sipping a pint and enjoying the breeze making it’s way through the garage door styled window at the front of the bar/cafe and am feeling far more confident in my creativity and abilities as a writer than coffee ever made me feel. I wish I had discovered this whole pint-over-some-work thing 6 years ago, it would have seriously improved my GPA. Or not. But whatever, I love it all the same.

Tequila Bookworm offers a fantastic beer and cider selection. Everything that Jamie and I have tried has been higher than average alcohol content (6-9%) and priced between $6.50-$8.00, which is more than fine by us. I had the Sawdust City’s Long, Dark Voyage to Uranus (quite the mouthful) which is a chocolate like stout, and Jamie had the Flying Monkey Smashbomb. Both were fantastic and have us feeling quite plonked. This is a great spot to enjoy a local Ontario brew while writing those last 5 pages of that essay that you absolutely NEED to get done by tomorrow morning. Not that I’m in that predicament, but I can clearly remember a few incidents in which I have been, and a beer would have been nice at a time like that.
The crowd is a mix of those indulging in a few stronger than normal drinks over the course of a catch-up, first date, second date, or forty-second date, as well as those merely grabbing a little hair of the dog in order to hold off the hangover that would surely bring all hopes of getting some work done to a catastrophic end on the living room sofa. Food is also available, including pub classics such as fish and chips as well as some delicious brunch options. If you ask me, a few pints and some pub grub beat a few cups of joe and a little biscotti any day of the week. Love this place! Her Take
