1. This is a great place to come with a girlfriend and catch up. It’s not expensive and the garage door front is open on a sunny day.

2. Come here to cure any sort of writers block with a cold pint.

3. Plugs are slightly limited, so try and charge laptop batteries ahead of time.

Tequila Bookworm is one of those places that you can’t help but revisit. With its relaxed atmosphere and extensive drink list, this is the perfect spot for studying while having a pint to keep those creative juices flowing. After coming to Tequila Bookworm for an afternoon to work on the blog, I started questioning my frequent visits to coffee shops throughout my entire university career. It’s amazing how a cold beer can cut down your writing time by half (although the quality is dependable on how many beers are consumed upon completion, and whether or not you read your masterpiece in full sobriety the next day).

A cross between a coffee shop and a bar, Tequila Bookworm allows patrons to take their time while finishing off every beverage. You never feel rushed and it’s expected that most people who visit will combine each drink with some sort of studying, whether it be for school or pleasure. However, I would not recommend staying for an entire day if you only plan on ordering one drink out of common courtesy for the business owners.

Food is also provided and served to the table. I think this is what makes Tequila Bookworm so attractive: it provides everything a restaurant does, but has no problem allowing people to come in and work. Coffee shops aren’t a bad alternative to being cooped up in a library, but these places don’t provide beer and the food is at times questionable. When it comes down to it, I’ll take beer and writing over a cubicle and stressed students any day.
