1. Be sure to spend some time wandering Brick Lane before heading to City Spice for dinner.

2. Bargain them down to a 10 pound each deal that includes a bottle of wine. You can even use us as bargaining power to say the offer has been done before.

3. The wine is not that good, but hey, it’s practically free.

I’m not a bargain person, but finding a three-course meal at City Spice in London has opened my eyes to the potential of cheap food through bartering. Lucky for me I have a boyfriend who loves the power of walking away from a deal just to see if he can get the person to lower their price. This method paid off at City Spice in London, a casual curry joint that ended up giving us a three-course meal and bottle of wine for 10 pounds each.

While the food wasn’t anything to rave about, for the price it’s 100% worth it. The restaurant is located in Brick Lane, an attraction in and of itself. We spent the day wandering the markets with friends and chilling out at a pub where it seemed perfectly acceptable to get wasted and party at 3pm on a Sunday. This is just one of the many reason why I’m hopelessly in love with London.

When you walk past City Spice, you’ll know you’re in the right place because about ten other restaurant workers will be vying for your attention. Don’t just ignore these people, as they are all part of the plan to score a 10 pound meal. Act uninterested, see what deals are offered, and never settle for anything less than what you came there for. Although this situation is uncomfortable for some, you’ll be happy you did after digging into nan bread and chicken tikka massala.
