2. If you are hungry go for a sandwich, as this will fill you up more than the tacos which are quite small.
3. Come here if you’re on a budget. The tacos are $4 and the sandwiches are $6, which is cheaper than most lunch spots in Toronto.
Banh Mi Boys in Toronto has grown on me in the last few visits. My first impression was lukewarm, and with Come and Get It right round the corner my natural inkling was to go there instead. However, after trying the squid taco at Banh Mi Boys I have since changed my mind. With cheap prices and a Vietnamese twist on all items, this place is the perfect spot for an affordable bite.
I’m still not completely sold on the sandwiches, and although the fillings are very tasty, the bread is nothing to boast about. This is where the tacos come in handy: each bite isn’t overwhelmed with the bun and instead you can fully focus on the delicious cilantro, carrots and sauce inside. Granted, one taco is quite small and does not fill me up, so I would recommend ordering two or pair the taco with fries. I’ve ordered both the pulled pork and squid tacos, and my favorite is the latter.
Pricing is the best part about Banh Mi Boys in Toronto, with each taco at $4 and the sandwiches at $6. Most sandwich joints in this city charge closer to $10 per order, which is outrageous and what makes Banh Mi Boys that much more enticing. Head here for a quick bite on the cheap, and experience a Vietnamese spin on the average sandwich. His Take
